How do we get started?
How's My Dog is super easy to use. You simply register to create a boarding center account. As your customers bring their pets in for a stay, you login to the website and add them to your account. Once you've registered a pet and owner, they'll remain in your account permanently. Every time a pet returns for a new stay, you simply log into your account and create a new boarding period for the little guy.
How do we gather the information?
Simply download our free app to your iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone or tablet! You'll use your own handheld device to take the pets' pictures and enter the update information. As you spend time throughout the day in the center, you'll take a few minutes to interact with the pet and create the update.
Which handheld devices do you currently support?
How's My Dog offers a free app for the iPhone, iPad 2, and iPod Touch 4 available for download from the App Store. How's My Dog also offers a free Android app available for download at Google Play (formerly the Android Market).
What if we don't have one of the listed handheld devices?
You can also take pictures using a digital camera and complete the updates through our website.
How do we send the information to the pet owner?
As soon as you complete the update, How's My Dog will send it to the pet owner automatically.
How do we know which pets we need to send an update to?
How's My Dog will maintain the list of pets in center. You just log onto your account on the handheld device, and all the pets that need updates will be presented to you electronically.
How do our pet owners sign up for the service?
You'll register the pet and his owner from the website as they come in for a boarding period. Just login to the website and click "Add new pet"!
Do I have to re-register the pet every stay?
Nope, once a pet is registered to your boarding center, you don't need to register it again. When the pet comes in for a new stay, simply login to the website and click "Add new stay"!
For Owners
What information will be provided to me?
How's My Dog will provide you with a picture of your pet taken that day, any messages directly from your pet, the activities your pet participated in that day and any updates that the boarding center would like to send you.
How will I receive the information?
How's My Dog will send you an email message containing the picture and content described above. The email message will be sent to you just minutes after the update is completed.
Who will gather the information on my loved one?
The staff of the boarding center at which your pet is staying will gather the information, take the picture, and submit the update electronically.
How often will I receive an update?
You will receive an update from How's My Dog every day during your pet's stay!
Can I send a message back to my pet?
Yes! You can send a secure message back to your pet. The staff of the boarding center will read your message directly to your pet.
What if the boarding center is not already in the How's My Dog network?
It's easy. You can tell them about How's My Dog or send them a link to the website, www.howsmydog.com. You also can go to the registration page and tell us the name and contact information of the boarding center. How's My Dog will contact them directly and let you know when they've signed up.
